SUMMARY:Friday Night Lights - 2026
DESCRIPTION:Race Guide\nAll competitors need to collect their returnable number with timing chip attached to the back from the\nClubrooms Information Table prior to your event.\nAges for Senior & younger taken as age at 31/12/2026. Masters grades are age on the day.\n• Kids not so Eliminator:\nTwo races in the dark but under lights this year for the Kids.\nU/12 and younger – a 2k two lap race with no break after lap 1.\nU14 & U16 – 3k 3 lap race with no break after each lap.\n• The Open Race:\nA 4k 4 lap race with no break after each lap.\nIdeal for all those Masters athletes wanting to have a cross country race under lights.\nAlso ideal for any U18\, U20 or senior athlete not wanting to run the Eliminator format.\n• Men’s and Women’s Eliminator:\nThe Eliminator is a ‘last person standing’\, 4 lap event with the field being reduced after each lap.\nEach lap will be followed by a 2-minute break that begins the moment the winner of the lap crosses the\nfinish line.\nThis race is only open to registered runners U18 and older (ie 16 years old and over at 31/12/26).\n5k Time – Those interested in being selected to compete in the eliminator need to express interest and\nprovide a recent 5k time via their club entry.\nThose not accepted into the Eliminator will automatically be entered in the Open Race.\n• An example of how it works (numbers subject to number of accepted entries)\nIn a 30-person field\, the first 24 at the end of lap 1 proceed to the second lap\, then the first 18\nproceed to the third lap\, and then the first 12 go to the final fourth lap.\nFood & Drink\n• The Rugby Clubrooms will sell all night\, hot food such as chips\, hot & non-alcoholic drinks\, and alcohol. \nEntries close at 5pm on Monday 18 May.

SUMMARY:Lionel Fox Trail Relay - 2026
DESCRIPTION:This event is being held at Woodend Beach and is a 2km lap. U16 will do 4x2km laps which is one lap for each runner and those U18 and over will do 4x4km which is two laps for each runner. \nFor more details on this event\, see the website \nEntries close online via the Port Hills Website on Monday 8th of June at 5pm to allow us time to enter our entries. \nFor those aged U16 the cost will be $7\, if you are a U16 Community Runner the cost is $10. \nFor those aged U18 and over the cost is $12\, if you are a U18 and over Community Runner\, the cost is $20.

SUMMARY:The Canterbury Cross Country Champs - 2026
DESCRIPTION:This championship race serves to identify the local champions\, as well as acting as the selection race for the National Champs. It is the pinnacle race for the Cross Country season. \nThe race is open to all competitors\, but those wishing to be considered for selection to the Canterbury team to compete at the National Cross Country Championships will need to be an Athletics NZ registered member. \nEntries Close: Monday 29th June  5pm \nFor those aged under 16 as of 31/12/2026 it will cost $7 and for those 16 and over it will cost $12 \nIf you want to run as a Community Runner for those aged U16 as of 31/12/2026 it will cost $10 and for those 16 and over it will cost $20

SUMMARY:Night 5k Road Champs 2026
DESCRIPTION:U16 is $7\, and Under 18 and over is $12. Late entries on the day will be accepted at the venue and will be $10 for U16 and $20 for Under 18 and over. • Whanau Entry Fee: $12 U18 and older; $7 for Under 16 and younger\n• Community Entry Fee: $20 U/18 and older; $10 for Under 16 and younger. \n\nCourse:\n• The course lap is approximately 1.617km of mainly sealed asphalt\, with a small 10m section of grass.\n• It will be dark by the time the first race starts\, so extra care and respect for other park users is required.\nAthletes are advised to wear a head torch if they have one.\n• There will be six marshals and several Referees stationed around the course for the first two races to\nguide young athletes.
