Whanau who are U16 and not registered the cost will be $7 \nAll U18 and over Athletes the cost to enter this event is $12. SUMMARY:Canterbury Road Relay - 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the ultimate road relay race – a chance for teams to compete against others on a course suitable for all runners. This year there is two races U16 and over run over four laps of 5.25km. Athletes must be 13 years or older on the 31st of December 2026 to run the 5.25km event\, and U14 and younger which is run over four laps of 3km. \nU/18 and older \n\n\nIf you are in the age group U18 and above\, the ticket is $12. \n\n\n​ \nU/16 \n\n\nThe ticket for this age group is $7. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Details\n\n\nParking: \n\n• Follow the signs onto Landfill Avenue and park before the weighbridge. Club Captains carrying tents and\nmarshals doing positions M2 to M6 may drive over the Weighbridge and park before the Event Village \nLap: \n​ \n\n\nEvery athlete completes the same approximately 5.2km lap \n\n\n​ \nCourse: \n• The 5.25k course starts on Landfill Avenue\, heads towards the beach\, goes anticlockwise over the left\nend of the middle hill\, before returning down Landfill Avenue.\n• The first 1.75km is sealed road\, then 1.75km of unsealed road including one gentle uphill climb of\napproximately 300m length and a gentle to moderate downhill back to the flat\, before finishing with\n1.75km of sealed road.\n• Run on the right side of the Landfill Avenue both ways. Run between the cones on the shingle.\n• Finishing runners will cross the finish line and then hand their baton (across a line of cones and bars) to\ntheir outgoing runner\, who will be on their left in the out lane.\n• The 3k course does the same course but turns around a cone at the 1.5k mark. All tarsea \n​ \nOther: \n​ \n\n\nTeam tents should be erected on the right-hand side of the road towards the beach from the start/finish line so teams can support their competing runner. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRace Timetable & Grades\n\n\n\n\nAll Teams start at 9am \n\n\nLaps: Under 16 and older – 4 laps\, \n\n\nUnder 14 – 4 laps \n\n\nGrades: \n\n\nSM\, SW\, Combined A (at least 2 females) \n\n\nMM 35+\, MW 35+\, Masters 35+ Combined (at least 2 females) \n\n\nMM 50+\, MW 50+\, Masters 50+ Combined (at least 2 females) \n\n\nU/20M\, U/20W\, U/20 Combined (at least 2 females) \n\n\nU/16B\, U/16G\, U/16 Combined (at least 2 females) – Athletes must be 13 years or older on the 31st of December 2025 \n\nAll team members first to talk to James before purchasing a ticket.\n\n​ \nMedals \n​ \n\n\nFirst\, second and third in each grade will get medals.
